As I find patterns that I like, I will post them here. These patterns are my own creation, but you have my permission to use them.
One Pinwheel Railfence
Here’s a link to the PDF for this block. It includes a diagram of the block and measurements for rotary cutting.
The block is 8″ x 8″ and can be easily converted to other sizes.
I’ve had many requests for the full pattern for this quilt. You can download a PDF right here.
Two Pinwheel Railfence
Here’s a link to the PDF for this block. It includes a diagram of the block and measurements for rotary cutting. The block is 8″ x 8″ and can be easily converted to other sizes.
This block differs in that it has a pinwheel in two corners of the railfence, rather than just one.
I like this version better, but I would eliminate the partial pinwheels along the edges by making some of the blocks without the second half-square triangle (HST). You would need to pay careful attention to the color placement if you chose to do this. If you were making a scrappy version that would not be an issue.
I have another idea that would go with leaving the half pinwheels in, but I’ll blog about that more later.
Enjoy

Love these patterns. The rail fence pieces (if done in the same pattern/color) look like a woven basket. Thank you for the PDFs. Yolanda Wood River
hi! it’s mousie from QH and I love your designs. That little pinwheel should add just a bit of pizazz for a toddler quilt. thanks for sharing
